Annihilation of Caste (जाती प्रथेचे निर्मूलन in Marathi) is a famous essay written by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a prominent social reformer and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. The essay was originally written as a speech that Dr. Ambedkar was supposed to deliver at a conference in Lahore in 1936, but the speech was never delivered due to objections raised by the organizers.
The essay is a critique of the caste system in India, which was prevalent at that time and continues to exist in various forms even today. Dr. Ambedkar argues that the caste system is based on inequality, discrimination, and oppression, and it is incompatible with the principles of democracy, equality, and social justice. He calls for the annihilation of the caste system and the establishment of a society based on equality and justice.
