On 8th June in 1927 Dr Ambedkar was awarded the Ph.D. Degree on thesis The Evolution of Provincial Finance in British India by Columbia University America.
Although Dr Ambedkar completed his works long back in 1916-17 , but Degree of Ph.D. was awarded on later date because of some technical issues.
Dr Ambedkar was there in America and Europe mainly in London from 1912-13 to 1916-17 for his higher studies. There he completed the works within very specific time of four years for MA, Ph.D., D.Sc.and Bar at-Law.
But meanwhile his scholarship as give by Baroda State exhausted and he took permission to complete his left over jobs after four years. Accordingly he again returned back to foreign land after earning sufficient funds for his left over studies.
